Il buon vecchio Billy non tradisce mai. E non poteva mancare all’appuntamento con Occupy (le ultime notizie lo davano ieri in azione con Tom Morello dei Rage Against The Machine a Occupy London). Peccato che non sia più in circolazione Joe Strummer altrimenti non avrebbe fatto mancare il suo contributo. Mi sono imbattuto in questo video che non posso che socializzare:

Billy Bragg riscrisse il testo dell’Internazionale su invito di Pete Seeger dopo le proteste di Piazza Tien An Men in cui gli studenti e i lavoratori cinesi che cantavano l’antico inno del movimento operaio furono repressi dall’esercito denghista.
Purtroppo non è mai uscita l’edizione italiana del documentario The Internationale:
Nel post su Angela Davis avevo sottolineato le radici di Occupy Wall Street nel movimento contro la globalizzazione neoliberista e nei sixties, Billy Bragg è andato giustamente più indietro nel tempo: l’Internazionale è stata e rimane l’inno del primo movimento globale della storia. Non siamo una moda passeggera.
